Ecological Funerals offers eco and logical ways of dealing with the inevitable for the 7 billion human inhabitants of earth
Ecological Funerals enables the organic nutrients in one’s body to nourish flowers, trees, and support life.
Ecological Funerals has a cremation option called Ecological Cremations and a burial option called Ecological Burials.
Upon your death, your family would contact Ecological Funerals to make arrangements for transporting your body to our nearest facility. The body would need to be wrapped in silk, cotton, or leather, as these materials can be converted into organic nutrients. Next, an embalmed body or a refrigerated body would be placed in a Decomposition Vessel – similar in appearance and operation to a stainless steel, water-jet spa.
The Decomposition Vessel circulates and sprays alkali over the body. The pH of the alkali, potassium hydroxide, is lowered from 14 to 10, as it decomposes everything except the bones; mercury in the teeth; and medical implants, which can be donated. In about two hours, the alkali decomposes the body. The end result of the decomposition process are organic nutrients and bones. 100% of the bones are removed from the Decomposition Vessel; then, they are dried and pulverized – a legal requirement that also applies to petrochemical cremation.
With an Ecological Cremation, we will land apply the life enhancing organic nutrients that otherwise would have become pollutants from a petrochemical cremation. The bone minerals, “ashes”, are returned in an urn. The family receives 50% more bone minerals as none of the bones are destroyed, as they would have been with a fire cremation. All of the bone mineral would be from the deceased. Fire cremations return commingled bones from those who were previously incinerated, as it is legal to do so. With flame cremations, it would be nearly impossible to return an urn without commingled cremains.
With an Ecological Cremation, the family receives an urn with the bone minerals. An Ecological Cremation consumes 90% less fossil fuel and emits 94% less carbon dioxide, compared to a fire cremation.
Ecological Cremation allows for a “traditional” funeral service or for a direct Ecological Cremation. To provide families with the ability to personalize funeral services and to facilitate families obtaining competitive pricing, we will provide a list of vendors and options for a visitation, church service, reception, hearse, limousine, flowers, obituary, music, memorial cards, urns, and caskets. We would not markup these items, as is the standard funeral industry practice.
Ecological Burials enable the nutrients in one’s body to nourish flowers, trees, and support life. 100% of one’s body can be buried without the necessity of incurring the cost of a coffin, vault, or cemetery plot. Land is not wasted. Resources are not wasted providing perpetual upkeep of cemeteries. By opting to enrich rather than contaminate the earth, your money can be put to better use supporting charities, churches, schools, friends, and family. Imagine the impact on your survivors if you and everyone else were to leave behind an extra $9,000 to make the world a better place.
What happens at the time of death?
Ecological Burials mirror the process described above for Ecological Cremations. A key difference is that with Ecological Burials one’s entire sterile body would be returned. The entire body, including the bones, could be buried in its entirety. A major benefit of Ecological Burials is that its allows the family to choose when and where to complete the cycle-of-life by burying, land applying, or mixing (with soil) the life enhancing organic nutrients.
A hybrid final disposition would be available to families. Families could opt to have some of the bones returned in an urn and some placed in the container with the rest of the organic nutrients.

Ecological Funerals offer families the choice of eco and logical funeral options.
